Product Details
The Laerdal Suction Unit (LSU) is a revolutionary portable suction unit that is ready on-the-go at a moment’s notice. Perfect for EMS, this allows responders to quickly administer suction as needed in any environment. There are numerous benefits and features, but the main thing to focus on is that this is a portable, durable and rapid suction unit that can be employed within a matter of minutes with a dedicated power source.Laerdal Suction Unit Product Features:
• Flexible AC/DC charging, able to charge to 80% in 3 hours
• Extremely durable with a rib cage that protects the whole unit
• System check that takes seconds
• 500+ mmHg with a flow rate at >30 LPM
• Quiet and efficient
Extremely Durable
You won’t find another portable suction unit that’s this durable. Constructed with a full rib cage that surrounds and shields the suction unit, keeping it safe during rough transportation. The Laerdal Suction Unit meets the stringent IP34D splash-proof standards, and it’s also highly resistant to shock. It takes a lot to damage this unit, ensuring you’ll get years of use from it.
The rib cage construction ends with a handle at the top, making it easy to move and introducing no additional parts.
Dependable System Check
The last thing you need in an emergency situation is an equipment failure. While sometimes unavoidable, the Laerdal Suction Unit has a system check that goes through several steps to ensure that the system is properly operational. This test takes 10 seconds and checks four essential areas.
It will see if there are any blockages in the suction tube, ensure proper vacuum efficiency, check to see if the vacuum can reach maximum power and scan for leaks in the system. If, and only if, all four areas pass, then the system will say that the Laerdal Suction Unit is properly functioning. This gives you assurance that the pump is ready for field use.
Power and Performance
You’ll find the Laerdal Suction Unit exceeds International Standards by offering all the power you need in any setting. The vacuum reaches up to 500+ mmHg with a flow rate at >30 LPM, making this ideal for field or even hospital settings. You should have no problems getting enough suction in nearly any situation.
You obviously won’t need this much power in most settings, so you’ll be happy to know that this portable suction unit features a variable vacuum that is simple to control. There’s a single knob that allows you to switch between five common settings for most tracheal and oropharyngeal situations. You’ll have no problem controlling the vacuum and selecting the proper setting.
Not only that, but it runs at a very quiet level when compared to other suction units. At just 57 db(A), this can be used in hospital settings or in the field without hurting your ears. This is just under a normal office or restaurant conversation in terms of volume, making it easy on everyone’s ears.
Power Transformer
The Laerdal Suction Unit comes with an AC/DC power transformer that is able to take power either from cords or AC or DC mains, making it incredibly simple to charge the suction pump and ensure it’s ready when you need it. Not only that, but it’s able to charge faster than most other suction pumps.
In just a mere three hours time, the battery will charge up to 80%. This should be more than enough for a day’s work, showing you just how intuitive this suction pump is. It’s ideal for field work where certainty isn’t a must and you have to be ready for all situations.
High Visibility LEDs
You never know when an emergency is going to happen, and you need a suction pump that’s good both during the day and night. When visibility is low, you need equipment that’s made for visibility. The Laerdal Suction Unit comes with high-visibility LEDs that have been strategically placed to help you work quickly and effectively.
There are LEDs to show whether power is connected, if the device is on, how much suction is currently being applied and overall battery power. Nearly every feature and button has an associated LED, making this easy to use during the darker hours.
When you need a suction pump that’s portable and can work at a moment’s notice, then you need the Laerdal Suction Unit. The Laerdal Suction Unit comes with all the premium features you need for effective emergency care in the field. From high vacuum suction to be durable and easy to use and charge, this is a pump that will elevate your level of care while ensuring that you save as many lives as possible.
