Product Details
The CombiCarrier II® spinal immobilization device functions as a scoop-type stretcher, minimizing patient movement with no logrolling required. It also serves as an improved extrication board during vehicle extrication situations.Benefits of the Versatile CombiCarrier II
The CombiCarrier II meets the latest Spinal Motion Restriction protocols providing optimal patient handling in the most extreme environments, including water rescue. The simple, intuitive design minimizes training of all EMS, hospital, and athletic training personnel and is especially important when spinal injury is suspected.
The concave patient surface limits lateral movement of the victim providing a head immobilizer and more secure stabilization, while minimizing movement of the patient’s spine during lifting and transferring. The scoop stretcher design also allows for easy removal once the patient is on the ambulance cot or delivered to the emergency department, which minimizes unnecessary patient movement.
In the case that the patient needs to remain on the board for x-ray imaging, the CombiCarrier II is fully x-ray compatible.
Features of the CombiCarrier II Full Backboard
The CombiCarrier II is constructed of high-density polyethylene with a urethane foam core. It weighs just 15.6 pounds and fits in an emergency vehicle’s standard backboard compartment. Despite its light weight, the CombiCarrier II can handle a weight capacity of up to 450 pounds, and the urethane foam core enables the board to float, making it useful for water rescues. Its construction is completely seamless; there are no rivets, screws or roll pins to snag clothing or skin.
The CombiCarrier II features large, easy-to-grip hand holds with integrated speed-clip straps for attachment of patient restraints, and the entire board has a durable carbon fiber reinforcement. Custom lettering for your emergency department is also available.
The CombiCarrier II’s high-density polyethylene shell will not absorb blood or other body fluids and is easily cleaned. When caring for this piece of medical equipment, use soap and water, a mild detergent, a commercial cleaner or disinfectant. A 1% bleach solution (or concentration compatible with current CDC guidelines) can be used, but afterward, the backboard should be thoroughly rinsed off with cold water and then allowed to try. Avoid high concentrations of bleach so as to not cause discoloration of the material. You should always follow the specific cleaning and disinfecting practices dictated by your Medical Director.
The innovative design of the CombiCarrier II combines two products in one: a backboard and scoop. This product saves valuable storage space, weight and critical budget dollars. It comes with an industry leading 5-year warranty, and is made in the U.S.A.
