Advantages of the Ambu BlueSensor SP Electrodes

The BlueSensor SP’s conductive wet gel optimizes the contact between the patient’s skin and the electrode, and effectively lowers skin impedance in order to get the best possible signal. The unique offset connector allows for free movement of the connected cable without affecting the electrode’s performance. This makes wearing the electrode far more comfortable and convenient for the wearer, and also prevents artifacts from disturbing the readout, especially in more demanding test situations. The soft foam backing material is easy to apply and moves with the patient, further reducing discomfort.

The BlueSensor SP’s superior double ring adhesive design enables optimal fixture and precision recording. The outer ring is for long term wear, as adhesion increases with time. The thin, soft material of the outer ring allows the skin underneath to breathe. The inner ring seals the conductive gel area and ensures an immediate, sound connection. Due to the unique construction, the BlueSensor SP can be mounted without any skin preparation, and can also be removed easily and comfortably.

The Ag/AgCl electrode is composed of pure silver filament, rather than a carbon/silver combination. Silver has ten times the amount of conductivity that carbon does, so the silver filament ensures excellent trace quality due to optimized conversion of the signal from biological to electrical. A clear and reliable signal aids in producing an accurate diagnosis the very first time.

Ambu BlueSensor SP electrodes have a shelf life of up to twenty-four months from the date of production when unopened, and a shelf life of one month when opened. *Note that BlueSensor SP electrodes are not radiolucent or MR conditional.
