Sager Emergency Traction Splints are engineered to provide superior counter traction and alignment. The use of traction splints by EMS professionals in pre-hospital care is a critical skill and traction splints are an essential piece of ambulance equipment.

Penn Care offers the following tractions splints from Sager:

  • Sager Form III Single Splint – Model S301 – This traction splint is indicated for use on proximal third and mid-shaft femoral fractures on adults. It is the only traction splint that continuously shows the exact amount of traction being applied. The traction decreases as the spasm releases. It will accommodate patients ranging from 6 years of age to adults well over 7′ in height, and the patient’s weight is not a problem in application. It has a Velcro closure to provide fast, secure immobilization and features a longer ankle harness to accommodate ski boots.
  • Sager Form III Bilateral Splint – Model S304 – Like the Sager Form III Single Traction Splint, this model is also indicated for use on proximal third and mid-shaft femoral fractures on adults. It has the same features as the model above, but can be used in single and bilateral fracture situations.
