Last week, our ambulance sales team had the pleasure of attending Braun Industries‘ annual sales meeting. The two day event, titled “Pedal to the Metal,” was held Wednesday, Oct. 5th and Thursday, Oct. 6th in Fort Wayne, IN and Van Wert, OH. The session was a great opportunity for us to touch base with the Braun management team and learn what’s new with Braun ambulances.
On night one of the meeting, there was an awards dinner in which Penn Care received numerous accolades from Braun Industries. Don Bloom and Mike Bowman both received the Sales Commitment Award in Region 1. Don Bloom also won the Region 1 Sales Champion Award. As a group, Penn Care was recognized with the Sales & Service Award for Twenty Plus Years.
As the last award shows, Penn Care has a long tradition working with Braun Industries. Braun was the first line of ambulances we carried when a partnership was established with the 2nd generation of the family, Phil and Charma Braun. Prior to that, we were exclusively an EMS supply company. With the addition of emergency vehicles to our offerings, we were able to meet the demands of an entirely new market in our region. We’ve always had the same territory as a dealer, selling Braun ambulances in counties in eastern and southwestern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, and the state of West Virginia. We also expanded over the years to include the state of Virginia.
The first ambulance we ever sold was the Braun Mini Mod; this was the pre-cursor to today’s Braun Express model. Don Bloom was affectionately referred to as the “Mini Mod King” for selling so many. He believes that model sold so well because it was an economical choice from Braun ambulances. Don’s sales skills also helped!
Over the years, we’ve continued to carry the Braun ambulance lineup because it is a high quality product, manufactured right here in the state of Ohio. Each ambulance is custom handcrafted with precision and attention to detail. Over the years, we’ve also grown fond of working with the same family. There is a level of consistency and unparalleled dedication to customer service that makes it easy for us to sell their vehicles.
