Serving a community of over 31,000 people, the Massillon Fire Department runs 4 stations located through the city with the help of 46 members. They provide advanced life saving services and emergency services. Although the exact origin date of the department is unknown, there was an established fire department prior to 1853. At that time, they had a hand pumper nicknamed “The Cataract.”
Today, the Massillon Fire Department’s fleet is certainly more complex with their latest addition of the 2011 Ford 166″ Metro Express Medix ambulance. The department chose to work with Penn Care to secure their new emergency vehicle due to the company’s superior customer service and support. One of two ambulance lines carried by Penn Care, Medix offers a variety of quality ambulance models at affordable prices.
The Ford 166″ Metro Express Medix ambulance is the largest Type III ambulance manufactured by Medix. Built on the Ford E-450 chassis, it accommodates a larger payload than other ambulance models and has a 166″ long module. This large box offers plenty of room for your EMS crew to move inside and provide better care for your patients, along with ample storage space for equipment and supplies.
