As defined by Wikipedia, “a catheter is a tube that can be inserted into a body cavity, duct, or vessel.” It is used in medicine to allow drainage, administer fluids or gases, or be accessed by surgical instruments. Some common uses include draining urine form the urinary bladder, administering anesthesia, and managing insulin with the use of an infusion set and insulin pump.

It includes a universal bevel top that allows for flexible insertion angles. The double flash back technology improves first stick success through both the needle flash and catheter flash. Once inserted, the needle is withdrawn in a swift and continuous motion. The needle shield engages as the needle tip passes through the catheter hub, permanently shielding the needle tip. This step cannot be bypassed and it the key to eliminating needlestick injuries.
