The BD Luer-Lok Tip Syringe is a sterile disposable syringe. The Luer-Lok syringe allows the needle to be twisted onto the tip and locked into place. This provides a secure connection, preventing accidental needle removal or accidental injection of contents.In comparison, slip tip syringes, also known as luer slip, do not have a secure connection and e slip tips do not lock in place. Slip tip syringes also do not have a locking mechanism and rely on a friction-fit connection. The user must push the needle hub onto the syringe.

There are three different ml syringe options available, along with varying needle sizes. Shorter needles are the preferred choice for injections right under the skin and longer needles are preferred for muscular injections. Finer gauges are better to provide less pain to the patient, and thicker gauges/longer needles may be necessary for thicker-skinned patients.
