Dukal sterile gauze sponges are the right tool for emergency wound dressing or wet-to-dry bandage changes. When applied with antiseptic ointment, these non-woven gauze sponges can also be used as packing for incisions. In addition to wound care situations, Dukal sterile gauze sponges can dispense and apply ointments or other skin care treatments — and even prepping injection sites. Gauze dressings should usually be changed three times a day, depending on the amount of exudate from the wound. They are designed to be non-stick so the dressing absorbs without sticking to wounds, minimizing patient discomfort.

The effective combination of weight and open aperture allows each sponge to wick quicker and offer highly superior absorbency. They are made of a soft rayon/poly blend and are sterile packaged. They are constructed without natural rubber latex, so there’s no need to worry about allergic reactions. These types of gauze sponges are highly affordable and safe for all skin types. Each gauze sponge measures 2 inches x 2 inches. Each package contains two pads per pouch with 25 pouches per tray. If the package is opened or damaged, it is considered non-sterile.
