Description
The BAG II® Disposable Resuscitator is Laerdal’s option for disposable ventilation. For lung ventilation on patients, without clean up and the risk of cross- contamination, The BAG II Disposable Resuscitator is the top choice. The BAG II has 3 different options for ventilation bag volume: adult, child or infant.
Like its reusable sibling, the Laerdal Silicone Resuscitator, The BAG II® consists of 5 important parts. The see through mask seals tightly to the patient’s face, ensuring correct ventilation, and enables providers to view patient lip color, secretion and fogging from exhalation. The elbow between mask and ventilation bag swivels 360 degrees, so users can provide care from any angle.
The yellow PVC ventilation bag is see through and has an ergonomic construction. The ergonomic construction provides an excellent feel of lung compliance and helps avoid excessive ventilation that could damage the lungs. For user comfort The BAG II also comes with an adjustable handle that can strap users’ hands to the ventilation bag for reduced hand fatigue. That way it doesn’t matter how big or small the users hand are, or the size of the bag, the provider is strapped in to provide controlled ventilation.
For supplemental oxygen from an external source, The BAG II includes a Closed System Oxygen Reservoir with Universal Star- Lumen Oxygen Tubing to connect to the oxygen source. This allows providers to administer 98-100% O2 concentration. There is no need for an adapter between tubing and flow meter, the tube fits directly.
The BAG II comes in 3 different sizes; adult for patients over 20 kgs, Child for patients between 10 and 20 kgs and infant for patients between 2, 5 and 12 kgs. The child and infant sizing options are fitted with a “pop off” valve on the elbow to ensure that the correct pressure of air is administered to smaller, more vulnerable lungs. The valve pops off when pressure exceeds 35 cm H2O.
