The Triangular Bandage is a common sense addition to any first aid kit or EMS medical equipment/wound care kit. Its primary use is as a sling, in the event that a broken or badly sprained arm must be immobilized. The arm stays secure in the triangular sling, and the corners of the sling are secured around the neck. Each individually wrapped triangular bandage also includes 2 safety pins for fastening. The bandage can also be employed as a wound cover, or folded for use as a pad to help control bleeding with direct pressure in an emergency healthcare situation.

Triangular Bandages are constructed of a durable, non-woven beige material. Their large size and triangular shape makes them suitable for individual of any age and size. Each bandage measures a generous 40 inches x 40 inches x 56 inches.

Immobilizing a limb after injury is important to prevent further damage and allow the body to heal. It can also help to reduce pain and swelling. However, sometimes an injury is severe enough to require a cast, and in those situations, a sling helps to immobilize the limb until more permanent treatment can begin.

Additional uses for Triangular Bandage include head injuries (to keep sterile gauze in place or when treating burns), sprained ankles (if an Ace bandage is not available), shoulder injuries, as part of a splint for a broken leg or arm, or as a tourniquet to stop excessive bleeding. *Keeping the wound above the level of the heart will help to stop blood flow, but this applies mainly to injuries on the head or arms. The type of bleeding can provide valuable diagnostic information concerning the extent of the injury: bleeding can either be arterial, which is bright red and spurting (as it is under pressure), or venous, which is darker red and only gushes out because it is under less pressure.

The Triangular Bandage is packaged non-sterile, and is intended for single use only. It is not recommended for use as a direct wound cover due to its non-sterile packaging. Do not wash or attempt to reuse the bandage. It is constructed of latex-free materials.
