Braun Industries debuted the first ambulance rollover crash test at FDIC 2016! Now, we’re sharing that footage with you…check out the footage below!
About the Industry’s First Rollover Ambulance Crash Test
Earlier this year, Braun Industries began crash testing ambulance modules. With a long standing commitment to safety and quality, they wanted to provide customers and potential customers with visual evidence and actual data that Braun ambulances are truly “Built for Life.” They purchased back a ten-year-old customer unit to serve as the first test vehicle, confident that even an older model would withstand the force of an accident.
Partnering with the leader in automotive testing, Braun developed a repeatable rollover crash test. The test most closely compares to the anticipated SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) J3057 body integrity test. SAE J3057 outlines proposed procedures for conducting quasi-static structural integrity testing of the patient compartment for ground-based ambulance applications. Developed by members of the SAE Truck Crashworthiness Committee, it applies science to the design and testing of the patient compartment structure for a standardized, data-based approach to ambulance safety. This particular test focuses on the modular body and roll impact loading, or in simpler terms, how well the box holds up in the event of a rollover.
The results of the test confirmed what they already knew… Braun Industries’ unique SolidBody Construction can withstand incredible force to protect your patients and crew in the event of a rollover.
