As each year passes, the department aims to enhance its services to better protect the Mentor community. Major plans for 2011 included continuing to develop public education opportunities, collaborating with other Lake County Fire Departments to improve service delivery capabilities, purchasing a new Public Safety (Police & Fire) radio system, and placing in-service new Paramedic Rescue squads at Fire Station #3 and Fire Station #4. Currently, the Fire Rescue Division is the largest division of the Mentor Fire Department and is responsible for the day-to-day provision of emergency services to citizens.

Staffed by 104 members, the Fire Rescue Division aims to provide quick and effective service delivery from five stations located throughout the City of Mentor. To aid in this, the Mentor Fire Department recently purchased two new 2012 International Braun Super Chief ambulance models from Penn Care. These two emergency vehicles bring the total up to eight Braun ambulances owned by Mentor, Ohio. Due to the high volume of calls the department responds to, they required well-built, high performance ambulances. The quality and reliability of their other Braun ambulance models set the bar for the purchase of these two new 2012 International Super Chiefs.

Congratulations to Mentor Fire Department on their new 2012 International Braun Super Chief Ambulances!
